The Tampa Pet Therapy Meetup Group

Meet other local people who are interested in Pet Therapy. You and your pet can visit local hospitals, nursing homes, and schools to share the unconditional love your animal can give to those in need.

I see there are 45 other people with the same interest to join such a group but none exists - yet. So I have decided to take the initiative to take the bull by the horns! It all starts with a sincere intent to do something positive and the first step is always the hardest.

Let's all get together and I'm sure we'll continue to be amazed by this experience!

"I have always wondered if Oliver might not be the kind of dog that would be good as a therapy dog. He's especially outgoing making friends and attracting attention where he goes. He is young, and small I would join to see if this is possible."

  • "Welcome Scott! My husband and I are owned by a 1/2 Golden 1/2 Great Pyr. Hale was recently certified as a TDI therapy dog. If you would like to check out TDI's website it is: http://www.tdi-dog.org/ click on testing requirements and you'll get an idea of what the evaluator will be looking for. We're going to be testing at Al Lopez Park on April 20th. The three minute separation and "leave it" are the hardest part for most. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask."
